Life definitely dealt Elizabeth Zott more than her fair share of lemons in Lessons in Chemistry, so I say turn those lemons into a spritz!
The Aperol Spritz, a classic Italian cocktail, became the popular summer drink last year, inspiring many spin-off versions. Personally, I love the flavor of lemon and actually much prefer this Limoncello Spritz to the original Aperol Spritz.
I love to serve my guests (or just myself) a Limoncello Spritz in these elegant glasses. Add a pretty straw, lemon and a sprig mint to garnish and you have a stunning cocktail that only takes a minute to make.
Delicious, refreshing and easy to make, the Limoncello Spritz is the perfect summer cocktail to serve your book club. Cheers!
Limoncello Spritz
Ingredients:
Limoncello
Prosecco
La Croix Lemon Sparkling Water
Lemon, slices for garnish
Mint, sprigs for garnish
Directions:
Fill each glass 3/4 full of ice. Add 2.5 ounces of Limoncello to each glass. (I highly recommend these spritz glasses. Be sure to use large glasses!) Add four to six ounces of Prosecco per glass. Top each with lemon sparkling water. Add a cute straw and garnish with a lemon slice and sprig of mint. Cheers!
